“До свиданья, друг мой, до свиданья.”
So I’ve been pretty homesick this past week thinking about all of you. I was talking with my Russian teacher about it today in class. This is a short version of how the end of class went.
Tatiana Sergeyevna: I think you’ll be feeling better next week.
Me: Yeah, I’ll get over it.
Tatiana Sergeyevna: You ever read Yesenin?
Me: No.
Tatiana Sergeyevna: This is his last poem. He was alone in a hotel in Petersburg. He didn’t have any ink so he cut himself and penned it in blood. He gave it to his friend and told him not to read it until he got home. Then he killed himself.
Me: Thanks. (laughing)
Well, it worked. I do feel better. I guess it could be way worse.
All’s good now. I’m glad I could chat with some of you these past few days. Miss you all.
